Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Clip Caption Kit collects, why, and what never leaves your device. The short version: your subtitle files never leave your device, and we only store what is needed to run your account.

1. Your files stay local

When you pick a master SRT and a timeline CSV, parsing, validation, re-timing and ZIP packaging all run in your browser. Those files and the exported SRT, TXT and manifest deliverables are never uploaded to our servers.

2. What we collect

  • Account email — the address you verify by email code or through Google sign-in. Used to identify your account and manage your plan.
  • Sign-in security data — short-lived, hashed email verification codes and a session record that keeps you signed in.
  • Plan usage — how many projects you have created and their subtitle-cue counts, so the Free and Studio plan limits can be enforced.
  • Subscription status — if you subscribe to Studio, the subscription status we receive from our payment provider (subscription identifier, status and renewal date). We never see your card details.

3. Cookies

We set only two functional cookies and no advertising or analytics cookies:

  • session — keeps you signed in. Removed when you sign out or after 30 days.
  • g_state — a short-lived (10 minute) token that protects the Google sign-in flow against request forgery.

4. Third parties we rely on

  • Cloudflare — hosting for the site and the database that stores account, usage and billing records.
  • Google — optional "Sign in with Google", which shares your email address with us when you use it.
  • Resend — delivery of sign-in verification emails.
  • Lemon Squeezy — payment and subscription management for the Studio plan, as merchant of record.

These providers process data only to deliver their service to us.

5. Data retention

Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days and verification codes expire within minutes. Account, plan-usage and subscription records are kept while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete these records.

6. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you by writing to support@clipcaptionkit.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children

Clip Caption Kit is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit, verification codes are stored only as hashes, sessions use opaque tokens, and payment webhooks are signature-verified. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep the data we hold to the minimum described above.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site.
